Palm trees, snakes (not real), jugglers (real) and the ramazmataz of a Rio carnival atmosphere
Finance conference, September 2016
Yes, we know, this doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a creative production, but how wrong you would be! This had palm trees, snakes (not real), jugglers (real) and the ramazmataz of a Rio carnival atmosphere, for Thames Water’s annual conference for 200 senior Finance managers. Not a client to do it by halves, they wanted to “up the ante” and build on the success of their 2015 Rugby themed event (that we also had the privilege to do). So we brought in our theming expert to create just the right mood!
With 20 cabaret rounds in Reading Town Hall’s Great Hall, we built the set in front of the stage to reduce the height and constructed our production desk behind. We ran a live theatre production for 10 actors (all discreetly mic’d up) with projected backdrops on three separate screens and using Slido, we managed the interactive live question and answer session, polling and voting.
Even we blushed when we received the message below.
“What can I say but thank you, thank you, thank you! The event was a triumph and the best one yet. I think the set, lighting, sounds, branding was superb and I saw how much work went into making it look fabulous – so thank you. Please thank everyone for being so patient with certain aspects of the programme – I’m so glad we had the “A” Team on the event and showed great strength and persistence to make the event look so professional. Please also send on our thanks to Emma for decorating the rooms so beautifully. The trees, lighting, parrots, butterflies, snakes were a great addition to the set. The drummers and juggler was a surprise for everyone and a great uplifting experience.
Graham – as always it’s a pleasure doing business with you.”Kerry-Anne Follows
